Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Senior Building Surveyor role based across our Sheffield and Manchester offices. The Senior Building Surveyor will lead and deliver a variety of building surveying commissions, including condition surveys, feasibility studies, and dilapidations assessments across commercial, residential, and industrial properties. Day-to-day responsibilities include inspecting and reporting on building fabric and services, preparing detailed technical reports, advising clients on maintenance, repair, and refurbishment strategies, and managing contracts and project delivery from inception to completion. The role involves coordinating with internal multidisciplinary teams, liaising with clients and stakeholders, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards, and supporting junior team members through guidance and mentoring.

Qualifications

- Strong professional expertise in Building Surveying, with the ability to lead and deliver complex surveying projects.
- Proficiency in conducting Condition Surveys and preparing clear, accurate, and actionable reports for clients.
- Experience in undertaking Feasibility Studies, including technical due diligence and option appraisals.
- Solid background in Contract Management and administration for building projects, including using standard forms of contract.
- Practical experience in Dilapidations, including advising landlords and tenants and preparing schedules and negotiation strategies.
- Relevant professional qualification (e.g., degree in Building Surveying or related discipline) and progression toward or achievement of RICS chartership.
- Strong knowledge of UK building regulations, construction technology, and health and safety requirements.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and report-writing skills, with the ability to build effective client relationships.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, with strong organisational and time-management skills.
