Senior Building Surveyor

Cardiff Construction Consultancy

Ready for your next step in Building Surveying?

A globally recognised property and construction consultancy is looking to strengthen its team in Cardiff with an experienced Senior Building Surveyor.

This is a great opportunity for a Chartered or recently Chartered Building Surveyor looking for a role that offers variety, responsibility and plenty of client exposure, while working on an interesting mix of projects across the UK.

You'll work across sectors including healthcare, education, commercial property, retail, energy and the public sector, delivering both professional and project-based Building Surveying services.

Alongside the technical side of the role, you'll have the opportunity to build strong client relationships, contribute to business development and support the development of more junior members of the team.

The role

You'll be involved in a varied portfolio of Building Surveying work, including:

  • Delivering professional Building Surveying services from feasibility through to completion.
  • Undertaking surveys, inspections and technical assessments.
  • Preparing specifications, schedules of work, estimates and tender documentation.
  • Managing refurbishment, repair, improvement and modernisation projects.
  • Administering contracts using standard forms including JCT and NEC.
  • Working directly with clients and other project stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Supporting the preparation of bids, fee proposals and business development opportunities.
  • Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across a range of sectors.
  • Mentoring and supporting junior Building Surveyors and APC candidates.
  • Assisting senior colleagues with the management and development of client accounts and projects.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
