Role Title - Senior Building Surveyor

Location

National (flexible base location with travel required as needed)

Our Construction Team

Our construction team is undergoing a significant transformation with a focus on insourcing and in-house development across our project portfolio. As part of the RM Engineering family, we have a mission to design, develop and deploy future ready, innovative solutions across our property, automation and maintenance teams. Our focus is now on recruiting talented, driven construction professionals to support the success of our strategy.

This exciting, newly created opportunity for an experienced Building Surveyor will play a key role in shaping safe, efficient and future ready buildings across our national estate. This is a hands-on, onsite role where you’ll use your technical surveying expertise to support new builds, refurbishments, defect investigations and estate improvement projects. If you enjoy being out on the road, solving problems and delivering high quality building solutions, this role offers real visibility and impact.

The Role

As a Building Surveyor you will:

  • Carry out detailed building fabric surveys, condition assessments and intrusive investigations.
  • Produce technical reports, feasibility studies, scopes, specifications and schedules of work.
  • Support fabric design development, including layouts, detailing, compliance reviews and performance standards.
  • Manage building condition data, asset lifecycle assessments and investment recommendations.
  • Prepare tender documentation such as specifications, Bills of Quantities and quality standards.
  • Provide technical assurance on site, including inspections, compliance checks, snagging and support through defects and warranty periods.
  • Ensure full compliance with Building Regulations, fire safety, access standards, planning constraints and internal governance requirements.
  • Work with CDM duty holders to manage design risks, safe construction methods and clear communication of residual risks.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
