The Company
Our client is a specialist consultancy operating at the forefront of building safety, façade remediation and compliance-led construction projects. They work with housing providers, developers, freeholders and managing agents to deliver complex remediation schemes on multi-storey residential buildings, helping clients navigate evolving legislation and regulatory requirements.
Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of projects, they are seeking an experienced Senior Building Surveyor to join their expanding team.
The Role
As a Senior Building Surveyor, you will support the delivery of large-scale cladding remediation and building safety projects from inception through to completion.
Working closely with Project Leads and senior stakeholders, you will provide technical advice throughout all project stages, supporting Gateway submissions, reviewing contractor proposals and ensuring successful project delivery in line with statutory and client requirements.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded surveyor looking to develop their expertise within the building safety and remediation sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the delivery of cladding remediation and building safety projects through RIBA Stages 0-6.
- Working alongside Project Leads to establish project deliverables and programmes.
- Producing and reviewing technical documentation during the design and procurement stages.
- Providing technical advice on remediation, compliance and construction-related matters.
- Compiling and submitting planning applications where required.
- Supporting the successful achievement of Gateway 1 submissions.
- Assisting with tender assessments and contractor procurement processes.
- Participating in contractor interviews and tender evaluations.
- Reviewing contractor design information and technical submissions.
- Raising technical queries and seeking clarification where necessary.
- Supporting project teams with Gateway 2 submissions and Building Safety Regulator requirements.
- Attending site inspections and monthly project meetings throughout construction.
- Liaising with clients, contractors, consultants and regulatory bodies to resolve technical issues.
- Assisting with project close-out activities, including O&M manuals, Golden Thread requirements and handover documentation.
- Supporting the successful completion of Gateway 3 requirements.
- Acting as Employer's Agent, Contract Administrator or Client Representative on remediation projects.
- Supporting workload planning and contributing to a collaborative team environment.

About You
The successful candidate will be an experienced Building Surveyor with strong technical knowledge and an interest in building safety, fire remediation and façade projects.
Essential Requirements
- Degree qualified in Building Surveying or a related construction discipline.
- Experience working on residential, remediation or compliance-led construction projects.
- Strong understanding of construction technology and building pathology.
- Experience reviewing technical documentation and contractor proposals.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively across project teams.
- Strong report writing and technical advisory skills.
- Full UK driving licence.

- MRICS qualified or working towards chartership.
- Experience of FRAEW-led remediation schemes.
- Knowledge of the Building Safety Act and Gateway process.
- Previous experience acting as Employer's Agent or Contract Administrator.
- Understanding of façade systems, cladding remediation and fire safety regulations.
- Experience working on occupied residential buildings.
