Senior Building Surveyor

Bristol | Multidisciplinary Consultancy | Building Surveying

Salary up to £65,000 + benefits

A chance to take your Building Surveying career to the next level.

A leading multidisciplinary construction consultancy organisation is continuing to grow its Bristol Building Surveying team and is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Building Surveyor.

This is a varied role offering exposure to a broad range of public and private sector projects, working alongside wider business teams. They are looking for someone who combines strong technical Building Surveying knowledge with commercial awareness, excellent client skills, and a genuine interest in developing others.

For a Chartered Building Surveyor looking for greater responsibility, varied projects, and clear long-term progression, this could be an excellent opportunity.

What's involved?

You'll work across a diverse project portfolio, providing professional Building Surveying services from initial feasibility through to project delivery.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering refurbishment, improvement, and modernisation projects across multiple sectors.
  • Carrying out building surveys, inspections, and condition assessments.
  • Preparing specifications, drawings, feasibility studies, client requirements, and technical reports.
  • Obtaining estimates and supporting statutory approval processes.
  • Administering contracts using recognised forms including JCT and NEC.
  • Managing regional projects and providing professional Building Surveying advice to clients.
  • Supporting senior management with day-to-day project and team activities.
  • Developing and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Mentoring and supporting junior Building Surveyors, including those working towards their RICS APC.
  • Line managing and developing junior members of the Building Surveying team.
  • Supporting business development activity, including preparing and contributing to bids and tenders.
  • Maintaining high standards across quality, health & safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Potentially working towards an NEC Supervisor qualification, if not already qualified.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
