DESCRIPTION AND REQUIREMENTS

Homebased - ideally based Yorkshire/Lancashire for regular travel across the Northern region

Salary £51,167 per annum

Make your expertise count

At Leonard Cheshire, our buildings are more than bricks and mortar – they are homes and care environments that enable disabled people to live as independently as possible.

As Senior Building Surveyor, you’ll manage a varied portfolio of domestic and healthcare properties across England, combining technical expertise with hands-on project delivery. You’ll have real autonomy to shape maintenance, compliance and capital investment across our national property portfolio.

What you'll do

  • Manage your own portfolio, planning and prioritising planned and reactive works.
  • Carry out building surveys and pathology inspections, diagnosing defects and recommending solutions.
  • Manage PPM schedules, budgets and capital projects from inception to completion.
  • Ensure properties meet statutory, regulatory, health & safety and fire safety requirements.
  • Manage contractors, monitor performance and ensure works are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
  • Work closely with Service Managers and Maintenance Coordinators to deliver high-quality property services.
  • Build strong relationships with contractors and internal stakeholders.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
