About Us
White & Lloyd is a growing multidisciplinary consultancy, known for delivering high-quality, client-focused surveying and engineering services. Our growth is underpinned by our people. We invest in their development, support their ambitions, and maintain a professional and collaborative culture.
As we continue to grow, we are now looking for an experienced Senior Building Surveyor to join our Building Surveying team and play an important role in its continued development.
We specialise in high-end residential projects, from new build housing developments to refurbishment projects. We also work with housing associations on affordable housing schemes and property managers responsible for large building portfolios.
Our approach creates a challenging and rewarding team environment in which talented surveyors can develop and excel.
The Role
We are looking for a confident and experienced Senior Building Surveyor to take responsibility for a varied portfolio of projects and provide support to other members of the Building Surveying team.
You'll be involved across a broad range of surveying and project work, including property inspections, condition surveys, defect reporting, maintenance planning, project management and contract administration on repair and refurbishment projects.
You'll also prepare and serve Party Wall Notices and Awards, attend building surveys and prepare detailed condition reports, as well as assisting other surveyors with more complex construction matters.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
