About Us
Adair is an independent construction and property consultancy providing Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying, Project Management, Project Monitoring, and Dispute Resolution services across the UK and internationally. We are currently growing our permanent Building Surveying team in Covent Garden and are looking to appoint at both Senior and Associate level.
About the Opportunity
This is a broad Building Surveying role covering both project and professional work. We are open to speaking with recently chartered surveyors ready to step up into a Senior position, established Senior Building Surveyors, and experienced candidates operating at Associate level. You will work across a varied portfolio of residential and commercial property, with the opportunity to take ownership of instructions and work closely with clients and the wider Adair team.

The Role
Work will include:
- Building surveys, including Level 3 residential and commercial surveys.
- Building pathology and defect analysis.
- Dilapidations.
- Contract administration.
- Refurbishment projects.
- Specifications and tender documentation.
- Party Wall matters.
- Licences to Alter and monitoring works.
- Some project management, with larger projects supported by our dedicated PM team.
- Supporting dispute and expert witness work, including technical and quality-related matters.
- Managing client relationships and delivering a high standard of service.
- Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team.
At Associate level, the role will also involve greater responsibility for fee earning, developing client relationships, generating new work, and helping to grow and manage the London team.
About You
We are looking for good all-round Building Surveyors with experience across both professional and project work.
Requirements
- Be MRICS qualified, or approaching chartership if moving into Senior level.
- Have a Building Surveying degree or equivalent relevant qualification.
- Be confident undertaking residential and commercial building surveys.
- Have a good knowledge of building pathology and defect diagnosis.
- Have experience of dilapidations and contract administration.
- Be commercially aware and comfortable dealing directly with clients.
- Be proactive, personable, and able to take ownership of your work.

For Associate-level candidates, we will also be looking for evidence of client development, fee earning, leadership, and the ability to support junior surveyors.
