About the Opportunity
If you're a Building Surveyor or Project Manager who wants more ownership, broader project exposure and a genuine say in how work is delivered, this is a role worth exploring.
An established, independent multidisciplinary consultancy with a strong reputation built over more than 40 years is looking to strengthen their team. The business brings Building Surveyors, Project Managers, Architects, Engineers and Designers together under one roof, which means projects are genuinely collaborative.
The role sits at the point where technical surveying, design coordination and project leadership come together. You'll be involved from the earliest client conversations through to completion, helping shape education and commercial projects while managing programmes, budgets, stakeholders and delivery outcomes.
It's a strong fit for someone who enjoys being close to the client, wants variety beyond a narrow surveying remit, and is ready to step into a visible position where their work can influence both project success and the continued growth of the consultancy.
Responsibilities of the Role
This is a hands-on, client-facing role with real ownership across the project life cycle. Responsibilities are likely to include:
- Managing a range of education and commercial projects from inception through to completion
- Acting as the primary client contact throughout the project life cycle
- Co-ordinating design teams and contributing to technical solutions
- Managing programmes, budgets and project delivery
- Administering contracts and overseeing procurement processes
- Working closely with architects and engineers to deliver practical, high-quality outcomes
- Building long-term client relationships beyond project completion
- Supporting the continued growth of the organisation's surveying and project management offering

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
