Senior Building Surveyor – Residential Estate Projects – London - Hybrid

We are working with an expanding building surveying department who oversee and lead projects across an impressive multi-billion-pound managed residential portfolio across the UK. They are currently looking for a Senior Building Surveyor in their London office overseeing CAPEX refurbishments and professional surveying work.

Remuneration:

£65,000 - £75,000 + benefits package + bonus. Hybrid home based role with 1 day in the office per week.

The Role:

The successful Senior Building Surveyor will manage a catchment of residential leasehold properties with additional commercial assets across the London and Home Counties region reporting into the UK Surveying Director. The role offers a fully flexible hybrid work set up being based 1 day in the office for team meetings and then 4 days from home or at site visits.

The core role will be 65% focused on the project management and contracts administration of their residential block internal and external common parts refurbishment projects valued between £50,000 and c. £3 million in line with the agreed PPM (planned preventative maintenance reports) with some additional commercial asset projects. In addition, the Building Surveyor will complete professional surveying work covering pre-acquisition and structural surveys, insurance reinstatement, dilapidations, defect diagnosis, building pathology, safety case reports, and inputting into the 5/10-year PPM’s. Any additional experience of fire safety and cladding would be a plus. Due to the level of the position, there will be some support and mentoring of APC candidates and wider CPD as you develop up into a management position.

Requirements:

  • MRICS qualified with a BSc in Building Surveying.
  • Experience overseeing residential PPM projects between £20k and c£3 million.
  • Experience of JCT contracts, defect diagnosis, building pathology, dilapidation, RCA’s and building regulations.
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills.
  • Additional experience in AutoCAD and fire safety would be desirable.
  • UK driving licence and ability to travel.
