Associate Partner – Building Surveying
Project Delivery & Professional Services | London
£72,500 - £82,500 + Car Allowance + Bonus
One of the UK's largest independently owned commercial property consultancies is seeking an Associate Partner-level Building Surveyor to join its London team, working across a varied mix of project delivery and professional services instructions.
Whilst the scale and client portfolio would suggest a larger corporate consultancy, the business remains independently owned and Partner-led, meaning decisions are made quickly by the same Partners who sit within the Building Surveying team you'll be working alongside.
Working with a blue-chip client portfolio ranging from prestigious landed estates through to major pension and investment funds, Building Surveyors get exposure to the full complement of traditional Building Surveying services, alongside the opportunity to lead large-scale and complex projects across the commercial property sector, with project values reaching £50m.
Perhaps most importantly for somebody joining at Associate Partner level, there is a genuinely achievable route to Partner.
The business has a strong track record of developing its own people, with examples of individuals progressing from pre-MRICS level through to Partner in under 10 years.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The Role
As Associate Partner, you will:
- Deliver and oversee a varied workload spanning project delivery and professional services
- Lead large-scale and complex commercial projects, with values reaching £50m

- Work directly with a portfolio of landed estates, pension funds, institutional investors and major property owners
- Build, manage and develop key client relationships
- Support and develop junior members of the Building Surveying team
- Play an active role in the continued growth of the London Building Consultancy team
This is an opportunity to join a consultancy with the scale, client portfolio and project complexity of a major corporate practice, but with the independence and Partner-led decision making of a much smaller business.
For somebody with ambitions of progressing to Partner, there are also few consultancies of this size where that progression can happen as quickly.
