Senior Building Surveyor
Loc: London, Surrey or Birmingham
Sal: Up to £75,000 + Benefits, Bonus
I’m working with a fast-growing and ambitious Building Surveying team that is looking to appoint a Senior or Associate Director Building Surveyor to help shape the next stage of its growth.
This is an opportunity for an established Chartered Building Surveyor who wants more than a purely technical role. You’ll work closely with the Head of Building Surveying, helping to grow the client base, develop the team, and have a genuine influence over the direction of the service line.
The team works across prime and super-prime residential, commercial offices, theatres and heritage assets, retail and shopping centres, with the majority of work across London and the South-East.
The projects
The quality and variety of work is a major part of the attraction.
Recent and current projects include:
- Grade II listed residential properties in Central London
- Large office refurbishments in Surrey
- Shopping centres
- Complex heritage assets
- Super-prime residential developments in Surrey and London
The wider project portfolio also includes:
- A 23-storey residential development in Portsmouth
- The refurbishment of an existing office building in Camberley
There is also plenty of opportunity to work across different disciplines, with Building Surveyors collaborating with Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, Bank Monitoring Surveyors, and Expert Witnesses on multidisciplinary instructions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The role
As a senior member of the team, you'll combine technical Building Surveying with client management and business development.
You'll be responsible for:
- Developing new business and building long-term client relationships.

About you

We're looking for someone who is technically strong but also commercially aware and comfortable developing relationships with clients.
You should be someone who wants to win work, develop accounts, and help build a team, rather than simply deliver instructions handed to you.
Why consider it?
