Are you an experienced administrator seeking your next challenge? Do you want to make a meaningful difference to vulnerable adults and their carers?

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.

We are seeking a Senior Business Administrator to join our Neighbourhood Support Team and Countywide Reviewing Team within Adult Social Care Services in East Sussex. If you are passionate about making a positive impact and thrive in a collaborative environment, we would love to hear from you.

The role is based at Cavendish House in Hastings town centre. As Senior Business Administrator, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day administrative functions of the service. You will also undertake ad-hoc duties that contribute to the efficient and effective running of the service, helping teams deliver high-quality support to some of the most vulnerable adults in our community.

Administrative support

Administrative support is fundamental to the successful delivery of services. In this role, you will ensure that client enquiries are handled promptly, that accurate and up-to-date records are maintained and colleagues receive the support necessary to carry out their roles effectively.

You will develop a strong understanding of the team’s functions and the positive impact they have on people’s lives. Working collaboratively is essential as you will be required to anticipate and respond to the needs of team members, whether they are office-based, working remotely or operating within the community.

Safeguarding

Safeguarding is central to everything we do. All staff are expected to carry out their duties professionally and in full accordance with safeguarding policies and procedures. We take our safeguarding responsibilities extremely seriously and expect a consistently high standard of vigilance, respect, reporting, and professional curiosity. You will receive comprehensive training and ongoing support to carry out this aspect of the role and will be held to high standards to help ensure the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable adults.

The ideal candidate

The ideal candidate for this key role will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Proven ability to motivate both themselves, ensuring adherence to all policies and procedures, and completion of all mandatory training requirements.
  • Undertake minutes of complex meetings about vulnerable clients. Minute, produce and distribute accurate records of meetings, including safeguarding, best interest meetings and/or case conference and complex case meetings, in accordance with statutory and local guidance.
  • A strong commitment to delivering high-quality work, consistently meeting or exceeding deadlines without compromising accuracy or standards.
  • The ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams within the service, providing effective support to the Office Manager, Operations Manager, and Practice Managers.
  • A solid working knowledge of email and word-processing software, including Microsoft 365. Extensive use of Microsoft Excel is required; therefore, strong Excel skills—including the ability to create reports using formulas to capture and analyse key service data—are essential.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
