Job Description
Purpose of the Role
To provide business analysis services to support AJ Bell with its growth and cost targets
To work with stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of continuous improvements, new products & functionality
To implement change across the department in support of strategic goals and ways of working
At this role level, you will:
- Have functional management responsibilities and/or support with people leadership
- Mentor others
- Develop best practice
- Own stakeholder relationships
- Manage community of practice activities within a business area
Job Responsibilities
- Support business case development through the identification and definition of business and technical options that will address the business objectives and requirements, and the analysis of the costs, benefits, risks and impacts for each option
- Support with junior member of staff either through mentoring or a more direct management role
- Be the lead for the detailed specification and modelling of holistic solutions using standards, methods and techniques as required. You'll maintain links with colleagues within related disciplines such as business operations, software engineering and service delivery functions and support the deployment of business and technical changes
- Facilitating stakeholder meetings and workshops, and presenting findings and actions both verbally and in writing to the business
- Assisting in defining holistic solutions that address organisational, people, processes, information and technology aspects; justifying the solutions when supporting the development of a business case for a business change initiative
- You will help create high quality user stories for new and existing front-end web and mobile app solutions working with colleagues on the discovery, design, build and testing phases of the initiative also ensuring that gap, impact and risk analysis is completed.
- You will seek to identify areas where improvement in systems and processes will lead to an improved customer experience and /or greater efficiency.
- You will be customer focused to ensure our customers get the best value out of our platforms by ensuring that they understand what the platforms can do and how it is best used ensuring they get the best possible customer outcome
- You will gather, analyse and validate business requirements and validate analysis completed by others
- You will seek to identify areas where improvement in systems and processes will lead to greater efficiency and ensure that these are brought to management attention

Your Skills And Competencies
- Agile working. You can help the team to decide the best approach. You can help teams to manage and visualise outcomes, prioritise work and adhere to agreed minimum viable product (MVP), priorities and scope.
- Business analysis. You can advise on the approach to identify, investigate, analyse and communicate complex business problems and opportunities within a project or programme of work. You can inform tactical decision making and help to define longer-term strategic plans. You can recommend the approach to options analysis, feasibility assessment and operations, and can quantify potential business benefits. You can ensure the proposed solution aligns with business goals and objectives, and business and user needs, and achieves the required outcomes and expected benefits
- Business modelling. You can lead on the modelling of processes, systems and data at varying levels of detail or complexity across a project or programme.
- Requirements definition and management. You can advise on the approach to requirements management within a project or programme. You can define the most appropriate requirements management life cycle methods and ensure the requirement can be traced in the design, build, test, tender and evaluation phases.
- Stakeholder relationship management (business analysis). You can lead on communicating with stakeholders, clarifying needs and commitments through consultation and consideration of consequences while focusing on user and business needs.
- Systems analysis. You can lead the identification and analysis of IT system capabilities, developing models and system requirements. You can use systems analysis to support a deeper understanding of how processes and systems work, and to identify gaps.
- Testing (business analysis). You can recommend the value of testing and apply the relevant tools and techniques to ensure test validity.
- User experience analysis. You can advise on the approach to analysis, prioritisation and validation of user experience needs. You can recommend a range of techniques to analyse the user experience and ensure that it meets business and user needs.
