We are recruiting for 3 full-time Senior Business Analysts on a fixed-term basis for 23 months

2 x Senior Business Analysts (Charging) 1 x Senior Business Analyst (Digital Waste Tracking)

We currently have exciting opportunities to support two projects within SEPA’s Transformation Programme.

Senior Business Analyst (Charging) - 2 Posts

You will play a leading role in supporting the delivery of SEPA's charging transformation work. Key responsibilities include:

  • Taking a leading role in the analysis of end-to-end charging processes, identifying process flows, decision points, controls, dependencies, hand-offs and opportunities for improvement.
  • Working with stakeholders across multiple business areas to understand current ways of working, identify inconsistencies and inefficiencies, and establish agreed future-state processes.
  • Designing and documenting improved operating models, processes and business rules that support standardisation, effective governance, improved customer outcomes and operational efficiency.
  • Analysing charging processes, business rules, decision points, data requirements and controls to identify opportunities for greater consistency, standardisation and service improvement.
  • Producing high-quality process models, requirements, options appraisals, impact assessments and other delivery artifacts that support delivery of programme objectives.

Senior Business Analyst (Digital Waste Tracking) - 1 Post

You will be a critical part of SEPA's Digital Waste Tracking (DWT) project, working closely with colleagues across SEPA and partner organisations throughout the UK.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Taking a lead role in engaging with representatives across SEPA and the wider UK DWT programme to plan, design and carry out research activities with users.
  • Understanding business operations and user needs, identifying tools, interfaces and processes that enable SEPA to effectively manage and utilise DWT data.
  • Acting as the key contact for data and digital aspects of Digital Waste Tracking project development, working in partnership with colleagues across UK regulators, devolved governments, Scottish Government and Defra.
  • Taking a lead role in identifying and elaborating user and business needs to support the effective design, development and testing of DWT systems and data solutions.
  • Supporting SEPA's involvement in the wider UK DWT testing environment and using feedback to inform future priorities and requirements.
  • Working with colleagues to ensure Digital Waste Tracking is successfully embedded within SEPA's wider digital transformation programme.

Essential Requirements (All Roles)

  • Relevant experience or qualification to SCQF Level 8-10 (minimum HND level).
  • Experience of delivering business solutions in alignment with organisational goals and objectives.
  • Strong business analysis skills, with experience of analysing, designing and improving business processes.
  • Experience leading the analysis, identification, design, prioritisation and implementation of process improvements that support standardisation, automation, digital service delivery or wider service transformation.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues to a wide range of stakeholders and translate business needs into practical solutions.
  • Experience engaging and collaborating with multiple stakeholders to understand requirements, develop solutions and support successful delivery.

Additional Requirements - Charging

  • Proven experience of analysing, designing and improving end-to-end business processes to deliver measurable improvements.
  • A strong track record of applying business analysis and process improvement techniques within a data or digital technology-enabled environment.

Additional Requirements - Digital Waste Tracking

  • A solid track record of business analysis within a data, digital or ICT project environment, including the use of recognised business analysis techniques and practices.
  • Experience working with data-focused solutions, digital systems or technology-enabled change programmes.
