Senior Business Analyst
Software, IT, Energy
Location: Warrington
Work Arrangement: Hybrid - 3 days a week in the office.
Key Details
- At least 5 years of experience in Business Analysis within an agile environment
- 1-2 years in a senior Business Analyst role
- 3 days a week in the office (flexible working hours)
- Occasional global travel
Experience within an energy and software development environment is a bonus.
Required Knowledge & Experience
Essential Knowledge
- Business Analysis Practices: Solid knowledge of business analysis frameworks, techniques, and best practice across both Agile and Waterfall delivery approaches.
- Software Delivery Lifecycle: Good understanding of the end-to-end development lifecycle, from discovery and requirements gathering through to solution design, testing, user acceptance, implementation, and post-deployment support.
- Business Process & Data Analysis: Experience of analysing business processes, mapping workflows, identifying gaps, understanding data movement, and recognising system integration requirements.
- Working with Technical Teams: Comfortable collaborating with solution architects, software developers, data specialists, infrastructure teams, and cyber security professionals to deliver successful business solutions.

Key Competencies
- Stakeholder Engagement: Confident in challenging ideas and assumptions constructively while building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels to ensure business needs are fully understood.
- Facilitation & Communication: Experienced in leading workshops, interviews, and requirement review sessions, encouraging collaboration and achieving clear outcomes.
- Ownership & Initiative: Self-motivated with a proactive, delivery-focused mindset, capable of managing priorities independently and driving work through to completion with minimal supervision.
Relevant Experience
- Significant experience working as a Business Analyst within IT, digital transformation, systems implementation, or wider business change programmes.
- Proven success in facilitating discovery workshops with senior business stakeholders to identify challenges, define objectives, and establish measurable outcomes.
- Experience delivering projects from initial discovery through to implementation, including producing high-quality documentation such as user stories, business process maps, requirements specifications, and gap analyses, as well as supporting and coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Experience coaching, mentoring, or supporting the development of colleagues and less experienced Business Analysts.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business or related field
- 5+ years of experience in related industry
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
This is a hybrid role where you will be required to work in the office (Warrington) 3 days a week.
