Senior Business Analyst – 2 Month Contract

Summary
We are looking for an accomplished Senior Business Analyst to play a pivotal role in the execution of complex digital transformation and business change initiatives within a large Local Authority setting. The successful candidate will collaborate with stakeholders, service managers, project teams, and technical experts to discern business needs, gather and analyse requirements, and ensure that solutions provide tangible improvements to services and operations. This position demands a confident Business Analyst capable of leading workshops, challenging existing processes, managing stakeholder expectations, and driving business change across multiple workstreams.
Responsibilities
- Lead business analysis activities across complex transformation and IT projects.
- Gather, analyse, and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops, meetings, and requirements-gathering sessions.
- Analyse business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Produce business cases, process maps, impact assessments, and solution documentation.
- Act as the key link between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams.
- Support system implementations, upgrades, and business change programmes.
- Develop acceptance criteria and support testing activities.
- Identify risks, dependencies, and opportunities throughout project lifecycles.
- Promote best practice business analysis methodologies across projects and programmes.
- Support the development of business analysis capability within the organisation.

Essential Requirements
- Significant experience working as a Senior Business Analyst.
- Proven track record delivering large-scale business change, transformation, or IT projects.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills.
- Experience producing high-quality requirements and business documentation.
- Strong knowledge of business process mapping and process improvement techniques.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience working between business and technical teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex project demands.
- Experience applying BCS Business Analysis principles and methodologies.

Desirable
- Local Government or Public Sector experience.
- BCS Business Analysis qualification or equivalent.
- Experience working on digital transformation programmes.
- Experience supporting procurement, implementation, or systems integration projects.
