Discovery and Contract Manager

Can be Croydon, Liverpool or Manchester based - 2/3 days onsite

About the Role
We are seeking a Discovery and Contract Manager to join a collaborative team responsible for delivering reporting, management information (MI), and data-driven solutions across a complex operational environment.
This role combines discovery, business analysis, and contract management responsibilities. You will lead the discovery process for new initiatives, ensuring business requirements are understood, assessed, and translated into clear delivery plans. You will also support the end-to-end management of supplier contracts, ensuring effective governance, performance monitoring, and supplier engagement.
Working with a wide range of stakeholders, you will help shape reporting strategies, define business needs, and support the successful delivery of MI and data solutions. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to ongoing transformation programmes focused on improving reporting capabilities, processes, and technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the MI Discovery process for new programmes and initiatives, ensuring requirements are identified, assessed, and appropriately scoped.
- Create delivery plans for MI and data projects, including resource requirements, delivery activities, costs, dependencies, and risks.
- Oversee requirements gathering and discovery activities to ensure high-quality outputs and clear recommendations.
- Support the management of supplier contracts throughout their lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, performance monitoring, and reporting.
- Prepare contract performance updates, supplier metrics, and supplier reviews.
- Collaborate with business, operational, technical, and analytical stakeholders to understand business needs and define effective solutions.
- Investigate business challenges and operational issues, recommending service improvements and process enhancements.
- Define acceptance criteria and support testing activities to ensure solutions meet business requirements.
- Produce performance reporting and management information to support decision-making.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing constructive challenge where required.

Essential Skills & Experience:
- Experience leading discovery activities, business analysis projects, or service design initiatives.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
- Experience gathering, analysing, and documenting business requirements.
- Proven ability to influence, negotiate, and challenge stakeholders constructively.
- Strong planning, organisation, and project coordination skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within changing priorities and fast-paced environments.
- Experience creating delivery plans, assessing risks, and supporting project governance.

Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Experience managing supplier relationships or supporting contract management activities.
- Experience working on technology, digital, data, or reporting projects.
- Understanding of Management Information (MI), data reporting, or analytics environments.
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
- BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis or equivalent qualification/experience.
