RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the various business departments to ensure their priorities align with current IT deliverables and availability.
  • Lead project teams to ensure timelines are being met; deliverables are in line with business priorities and solutions remain flexible to evolving future business requirements and not leading to suboptimal development.
  • Continuously communicate with business partners to understand company priorities and direction and manage expectations.
  • Continuously communicate with IT to ensure the business is providing the necessary support for prioritized BAU and project work and develop remediation approaches.
  • Actively identify/design solutions around business inefficiencies, processes, and areas of improvement.
  • Help identify flaws in the existing processes that could put the company at risk; propose feasible solutions to reduce residual business and systems risk.
  • Communicate with business departments to identify solutions or recommendations to make identified processes and controls more efficient, robust, and accurate.

  • Degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or process-oriented study.

Experience (Essential):

  • Prior experience in the energy industry or related experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of trading organization set-up, e.g., front, middle, back office, and associated standard controls.
  • Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience with ION’s Endur ETRM or similar ETRM systems.
  • Understanding of LNG / natural gas / oil / products marketing activities, including purchase/sales, transportation, storage, and financial transactions.
  • Modelling and managing of the above deal types within Endur.
  • Understanding of IT development lifecycle (Agile development).
  • Development and implementation of trading-related Key Risk and Performance Indicators.
  • Experience designing and implementing technical solutions for business efficiency and productivity.

Skills:

  • Excellent communicator with strong written and verbal communications skills as well as interpersonal and presentation skills, including the ability to effectively work with co-workers of vastly different professional backgrounds as well as external client counterparties and suppliers, e.g., banks and software vendors.
  • Must be flexible and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with continually changing priorities. Excellent team player with strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Must be proficient in using systems and software such as MS Office Suite, specifically, Excel (including large data analytics and reporting functionality) and ideally Visio and SharePoint.
  • Experience in operating and developing Excel VBA macros is preferred. Macros in this context are used to assist in data collation and facilitate efficient KRI reporting.
  • Ability to own and execute tasks in an organized and structured manner.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Team player and inquisitive and innovative nature.
  • Ability to manage project timelines and deliverables in a team and/or independent framework.
  • Understanding database structure, query language, and framework.
  • Strong understanding of IT code management strategies and tools.
  • Python and Microsoft Power Platform experience is preferred.
