Job Description
What is the opportunity?
The COO group is the functional core of RBC Capital Markets’ trading activities. We provide our business partners greater efficiency, scalability, and control within their operational processing, helping to ensure the firm’s continued growth and success. Within the COO Group is the Liquidity, Funding and Payment Services pillar dedicated to supporting mission critical Treasury, Cash, Control and Collateral Management capabilities across various Capital Market and Enterprise-wide business lines.
The Product Team in Liquidity, Funding and Payment Services shapes and advances the transformation roadmap through a holistic lens including people, processes, data, and technologies. This role sits within the Payments Product Organization with goal for improved STP rates for high value payments along with enhanced controls across all of Capital Markets businesses. Through a variety of tools and methodologies, our team strives to clearly articulate a vision for the future of our business, and drive towards it, in collaboration with our IT partners.
What will you do?
- Lead the comprehensive mapping, analysis, and redesign of business processes to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for technology & automation, process improvements, and home-of-best-fit recommendations
- Support the analysis of “as-is” Capital Markets Payments Ecosystems and identify areas of efficiency improvement as a part of the Capital Markets Payments Modernization Program
- Collaborate with cross functional teams such as operations, legal, compliance, and risk where required
- Contribute to the operations readiness for product roll outs, such as providing training and support to internal teams
- Test Case modelling, planning, and execution
- Roadmap development and prioritization
- Designing dashboards and end-to-end tracking tools for payments
- Thought leadership on key and emerging technologies, competitive landscape, and capital markets transformation
- Liaise with and manage cross-functional teams to achieve buy-in
- Report progress of project status, milestones, and achievements to stakeholders
- Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and service providers in assessing new technologies and industry trends

What will you need to succeed?
- 5+ years of experience as a Business or Product Analyst in Financial institutions especially within the scope of Capital Markets or Payments/Cash Management products and services
- 3+ years of experience in hand on agile development in a product owner role, including creating user stories, backlog refinement
- Knowledge of ISO and MT/MX payment formats, SWIFT Messaging, FX payments, and Instant Payments Processing
- A good understanding of innovative technologies and current technology trends
- Professional Certifications: CSM, CTP certification preferred but not required
- Must be a team player who works well with technical and non-technical resources
- A Payment Enthusiast keeping updated with the industry trends
- A "can do" attitude. Must be able to see tasks through to completion without significant supervision
- Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate to all project members and stakeholders
- Familiar with legal and compliance obligation related to Payments processing guidelines and other regulations related to Capital Markets
