Role: Sr Business Analyst
Experience: 8+ years
Job location: Stevenage, UK
Work model: 3 days per week work from client office (Mandatory)
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze data from multiple inventory, operational, and asset management sources to understand data structures, relationships, business meaning, and usage across the organization.
- Conduct business analysis activities including stakeholder interviews, workshops, requirements gathering, and process assessments to identify business needs and improvement opportunities.
- Create and maintain data mapping documentation, business rules, process flows, data dictionaries, and functional specifications.
- Document current-state and future-state business processes, data flows, transformation logic, and data lineage across enterprise systems.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, data architects, data engineers, governance teams, and analytics teams to ensure business requirements are accurately translated into technical solutions.
- Define and document business KPIs, compliance metrics, operational performance indicators, and reporting requirements.
- Perform data profiling, quality assessments, gap analysis, and root cause analysis to identify inconsistencies and improvement opportunities.
- Support the development of data governance standards, quality frameworks, and business rules to improve data accuracy, consistency, and usability.
- Translate complex business requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, and delivery requirements for Agile teams.
- Support dashboard design and analytics initiatives by defining business logic, KPI calculations, and stakeholder reporting needs.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between business, technology, governance, and operational teams to ensure alignment on objectives and solutions.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), business validation, and stakeholder sign-off activities for data, reporting, and analytics solutions.

Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst within data, analytics, digital transformation, or enterprise system initiatives.
- Strong experience in requirements elicitation, stakeholder management, workshop facilitation, and business process analysis.
- Proven experience in data analysis using SQL, data mapping, business rule definition, and process documentation.
- Understanding of data quality, governance, master data, metadata, and data management principles.
- Experience working closely with data engineering, architecture, reporting, and analytics teams.
- Ability to interpret complex data and translate findings into business insights, recommendations, and actionable requirements.
- Experience defining KPIs, metrics, dashboards, and reporting requirements for business stakeholders.
- Strong documentation skills including BRDs, functional specifications, user stories, process flows, and data dictionaries.
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments and managing requirements through Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar tools.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Preferred Skills
- Experience working on enterprise data transformation, governance, asset management, inventory management, or operational excellence initiatives.
- Knowledge of data visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI or similar BI platforms.
- Familiarity with data quality frameworks, compliance reporting, and operational risk management.
- Exposure to large-scale data integration, consolidation, and business intelligence programs.
- Understanding of lifecycle management, governance processes, and enterprise data products.
