Senior Business Analyst - Outside IR35 - Fully Remote - Major Digital Transformation - GDS Framework
Rate: £500 - £650 per day
Assignment duration: Six months initial
We're supporting a renowned consultancy, delivering a major digital transformation programme for a large public sector organisation and are looking for an experienced Senior BA to join the project ASAP.
This is an opportunity to help shape the future-state data landscape, designing modern user-centric platforms, defining migration strategies and ensuring solutions align with wider business and technology objectives.
We're looking for a Senior Business Analyst with deep experience delivering complex digital transformation programmes within Government Digital Service (GDS) environments.
This role requires a BA who is "GDS through and through", someone who understands how to translate business needs into user-centred digital services, navigate complex stakeholder environments, and drive delivery across multidisciplinary teams.

- Lead business analysis activities across large-scale digital transformation programmes.
- Elicit, analyse and document business, user and technical requirements.
- Facilitate workshops with senior stakeholders, service users and delivery teams.
- Develop user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps and business requirements documentation.
- Support service design and discovery activities in line with GDS standards.
- Map current and future state processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Delivery Managers, Service Designers, User Researchers and Technical Architects.
- Ensure solutions align with organisational objectives, user needs and GDS best practice.
- Support business case development, benefits realisation and organisational change initiatives.
Essential Experience
- Significant experience as a Business Analyst within GDS-aligned organisations or public sector/central government digital programmes.
- Proven track record delivering complex digital transformation projects.
- Strong experience working within Agile delivery environments.
- Experience operating within multidisciplinary product and delivery teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, including engagement with senior leadership.
- Strong requirements gathering, workshop facilitation and process modelling expertise.
- Experience creating user stories, epics, acceptance criteria and managing product backlogs.
- Strong understanding of user-centred design principles and the GDS Service Standard.

Desirable
- Experience working across Discovery, Alpha, Beta and Live phases of delivery.
- Familiarity with GDS service assessments and the GDS Service Standard.
- Experience working within central government, public sector or highly regulated environments.
- BCS Business Analysis qualification or equivalent.
- Experience supporting large-scale transformation, modernisation or service redesign programmes.
