Are you an experienced Applications Analyst looking for your next challenge? Do you enjoy solving complex business problems and driving continuous improvement through technology? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Business Applications team as a Senior Applications Analyst!

We offer a hybrid working model, with time split between home and our offices located within our flagship store in Newcastle upon Tyne.

About the role

As a Senior Business Applications Analyst, you will act as a functional lead and subject matter expert across Fenwick’s core business systems, with a particular focus on Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365). Working at the heart of our technology function, you will provide expert support, drive system enhancements, and help shape the future development of applications that support our retail, digital, finance, buying, merchandising and logistics operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who combines strong technical and functional expertise with a passion for delivering practical business solutions.

A key focus of the role will be supporting and optimising D365 capabilities across our supply chain and operational landscape. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and a strong understanding of logistics processes within a direct delivery (dropship) environment. You will work closely with stakeholders across Logistics, Digital, Buying & Merchandising and Retail to translate business requirements into effective system solutions, resolve complex issues, and ensure applications continue to support evolving business needs.

Working alongside IT, DevOps, Service Operations, BI and Testing teams, you will lead incident resolution, user acceptance testing, training, reporting, system documentation and change delivery. As a senior member of the team, you will also promote best practice, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support the ongoing evolution of Fenwick's technology landscape. This role is ideally suited to an experienced applications specialist with deep D365 expertise, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the confidence to work with stakeholders at all levels across a fast-paced retail business.

What we are looking for in a candidate...

  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with D365, Shopify and POS systems
  • Proven ability to identify, prioritise, and resolve complex application issues, ensuring minimal business disruption
  • Experience with ITIL processes (Change, Incident, Problem, Service Request)
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business language
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, including out-of-hours support
  • Strong commitment to continuous improvement, process optimisation, and proactive stakeholder engagement
  • Proven experience in designing, developing, and enhancing complex business processes and workflows
  • Experience in modifying, maintaining and enhancing business process solutions developed by internal and 3rd party partners
