Contract type: 12 Months Fixed Term

Location: London

Working style: Hybrid 50% home/office based

We’re looking for a Senior Business Consultant to join Royal London Asset Management on a 12 month fixed term basis.

You’ll play a key role in shaping strategic business initiatives and driving organisational change. Working closely with senior leaders and stakeholders, you’ll assess the viability of new opportunities, provide expert insight and market intelligence, and help guide complex decisions that influence RLAM's future operating model, investment priorities, and long-term success. Leveraging your experience, you’ll balance business needs, resources, costs, and benefits to deliver meaningful outcomes across the organisation.

About the role

Strategic Alignment and Shaping

  • Understand RLAM's strategic direction and help shape future plans using industry expertise and insight.
  • Assess new ideas and opportunities, evaluating their feasibility, costs, benefits, and potential impacts.
  • Guide the organisation through complex decisions relating to future operating models.
  • Identify broader operating model challenges and influence senior leaders to address them effectively.

Planning

  • Develop high-level approaches and roadmaps that inform future project portfolios and initiatives.
  • Use market insight and industry knowledge to help RLAM respond to opportunities and challenges.
  • Assess and recommend the resources needed to deliver strategic plans successfully.
  • Contribute to business planning, influencing project priorities and budget decisions.

Analysis

  • Provide tools, frameworks, and techniques to explore and develop strategic ideas.
  • Apply advanced analysis and business architecture methods to assess costs, impacts, risks, dependencies, and organisational maturity.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with senior leaders, programme teams, risk functions, and external stakeholders to support strategic transformation.
  • Build commitment and ownership among stakeholders, ensuring engagement and contribution to key deliverables.
  • Facilitate complex strategic discussions and support decision-making through strong influencing and communication skills.

About you

  • Expert knowledge of the asset management industry, including market trends, operating models, regulatory developments, and strategic challenges.
  • Proven experience leading complex transformation and change initiatives.
  • Demonstrable track record of shaping and influencing strategic business initiatives.
  • Strong leadership experience, with a proven ability to drive change in complex environments.
  • Advanced stakeholder management skills, including influencing and engaging at Executive Committee and Board level.
  • Experience creating strategic deliverables and roadmaps from high-level objectives and business goals.
  • Skilled in using frameworks, tools, and techniques to structure and solve complex business problems.
  • Excellent facilitation and influencing skills, with a proven ability to build consensus and drive timely decision-making.
  • Ability to challenge constructively, navigate ambiguity, and guide organisations through complex strategic decisions.
