Business Consultant / Manager
We are representing a leading, fast-growing global consulting firm that acts as a trusted partner to some of the world’s most prestigious financial institutions and Fin-Techs.
They are seeking a high-calibre Business Consultant / Manager with a unique blend of deep risk expertise, 1st line controls experience, and extraordinary analytical firepower to lead high-impact transformations in London. This is a fast-paced environment that demands the agility of a start-up coupled with the structured delivery of top-tier consulting.
The Role
As a Business Manager / Consultant, you will sit at the intersection of business change, risk management, and operational execution. You will be responsible for leading complex transformations, design-to-delivery initiatives, and robust control implementations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transformation Delivery: Lead and execute end-to-end change programmes within corporate/investment banking, wealth management, or high-growth Fin-Techs.
- 1st Line Risk & Controls: Design, implement, and optimise 1st line of defence (1LoD) control frameworks to proactively identify and mitigate operational, financial, and regulatory risks.
- Analytical Problem Solving: Deploy your "analytical firepower" to dissect complex datasets, map out legacy processes, build robust models, and translate technical insights into strategic business recommendations.
- Stakeholder Orchestration: Act as the critical bridge between front-office business lines, technology units, and risk/compliance functions, managing senior executive stakeholders with confidence.
- Agile Execution: Bring a fast-paced, "builder" mindset to navigate ambiguity and deliver high-quality outcomes under tight timelines.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
