Senior Business Development Associate

City of London | £60,000–£80,000 Base + Uncapped Commission | OTE £200,000–£300,000 | 5 Days Office-Based

Have you built a strong network across fintech, AI, defence or sustainable technology – and know how to turn senior relationships into commercial opportunities?

We’re partnering with a rapidly growing specialist consultancy in the heart of the City to hire a Senior Business Development Associate. This is an opportunity for an established business developer to take ownership of key growth markets, work directly with founders and C-suite decision-makers, and benefit significantly from the business they generate.

With a £60,000–£80,000 base salary and uncapped commission, successful performers can achieve OTE in the region of £200,000–£300,000.

This is not a high-volume BDR role. They are looking for someone commercially sophisticated who already understands how to build senior relationships, open doors and develop opportunities from initial conversation through to client engagement.

The Opportunity

You’ll take ownership of developing new business across one or more key markets, with a particular focus on fintech, AI, defence and sustainable technology.

Working with some of the UK’s most innovative businesses, you’ll:

  • Develop and execute a targeted go-to-market strategy within your specialist markets.
  • Leverage your existing network to create introductions and new commercial opportunities.
  • Build relationships with founders, CEOs, CFOs and other senior decision-makers.
  • Identify businesses that could benefit from the consultancy’s specialist services and develop them into clients.
  • Build a high-quality pipeline through a combination of existing relationships, strategic networking and proactive business development.
  • Develop a genuine understanding of prospective clients, their businesses and commercial priorities.
  • Own and develop senior relationships over the longer term.
  • Represent the consultancy at industry events, networking opportunities and relevant professional forums.
  • Work closely with internal specialists to ensure prospective and new clients receive a seamless experience.
  • Take ownership of pipeline management, forecasting and commercial performance.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • A credible network of founders, C-suite executives and senior decision-makers.
  • A track record of using relationships to originate and win new business.
  • Confidence operating at C-suite level and developing trusted commercial relationships.
  • Strong commercial judgement and the ability to recognise where genuine opportunities exist.

  • The ability to understand and communicate a sophisticated professional services proposition.
  • A demonstrable track record of achieving commercial growth targets.
