Senior Business Development Executive (Senior BDE)

Salary: £42,000 - £46,000 per annum (uncapped commission)

Job Type: Permanent

Location: Swansea

Hybrid Working: 2-3 days in office with some event-based travel

The Senior BDE is responsible for driving revenue growth across a defined portfolio of Tier 24 commercial accounts within the UK and Ireland through the proactive management and development of existing customer relationships and the identification of new business opportunities in the Education space.

Key Responsibilities

Account Management

  • Develop and manage a portfolio of Tier 24 commercial accounts across the UK and Ireland.
  • Conduct regular customer account reviews to identify opportunities for growth and strengthen customer relationships.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing, former, and prospective customers through regular engagement.
  • Develop an understanding of customer business priorities and position the clients offering to mitigate security risks.

Business Development

  • Manage & convert qualified inbound leads into closed opportunities across assigned accounts.
  • Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities within existing and prospective customers across multiple functions through successful campaigns via multiple sales channels.
  • Follow market trends and emerging cyber security developments to identify new commercial opportunities and translate these into customer-focused solutions.
  • Manage sales opportunities through the CRM system (Salesforce), reporting pipeline updates for the UK & Ireland to the Sales Leadership Team.
  • Support tender responses, framework submissions, and customer procurement activities where appropriate, including quotations, proposals, and supporting commercial documents.
  • Monitor invoice queries and support timely resolution of outstanding customer payments in collaboration with Finance.
  • Confident in face-to-face settings with a fluent delivery of the clients offerings.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in a target-driven role, including Business Development, Inside Sales, Account Management, or Customer Success.
  • Strong management of data, tasks & updates within CRM platforms (Salesforce preferred).
  • Excellent planning, organization, and sales forecasting skills for the fast-changing market.
  • Commercial awareness and negotiation ability in a customer-facing space.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.

Desirable Knowledge

  • Knowledge of Cyber Security, including current market trends and customer challenges and functions.
  • Knowledge of the UK and Ireland commercial market.
  • Proficient in Salesforce and Tableau.
