Senior Business Development Executive
The Role
The Senior Business Development Executive will play a key role within the firm's Marketing and Business Development team, supporting the delivery of strategic business development and marketing initiatives across a group of practice areas. Working closely with the Head of Business Development, Partners, fee-earners and the wider Marketing team, the role is responsible for developing and implementing business development plans, managing marketing campaigns, driving client engagement activities and supporting the firm's growth objectives.
The role offers significant autonomy and responsibility, providing opportunities to lead business development initiatives, coach junior team members and build strong relationships with stakeholders across the firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of marketing and business development plans and budgets for allocated departments.
- Lead regular business development meetings with Partners and departments, providing updates, gathering feedback and identifying future opportunities.
- Work closely with the Marketing team, Knowledge Development Lawyers and fee-earners to identify market opportunities, emerging trends and thought leadership topics.
- Develop creative marketing and business development initiatives that support departmental growth and strengthen the firm's market profile.
- Manage the firm's involvement in department-specific conferences, seminars and external events.
- Plan and deliver thought leadership campaigns in collaboration with the wider Marketing team.
- Support the preparation of directory submissions, award submissions, credentials, pitches and marketing collateral.
- Track, monitor and report on new business opportunities, marketing activity and business development targets.
- Conduct client, competitor and market research to identify opportunities for business growth.
- Collaborate with Client Development colleagues to support client relationship and engagement initiatives.
- Identify and facilitate cross-selling and client-sharing opportunities across practice areas.
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of the firm's key sectors, industry developments and market trends.
- Identify wider business development opportunities that can be leveraged across the firm.
- Support the wider Marketing and Business Development team with projects and initiatives as required.

- Previous experience within a Marketing and Business Development environment is essential, ideally within a professional services or law firm.
- Experience developing and delivering marketing and business development plans and managing departmental budgets.
- Confident working closely with Partners, fee-earners and senior stakeholders to provide strategic business development support.
- Experience managing business development projects, campaigns, conferences and events.
- Excellent attention to detail to produce work and documentation of a consistently high standard.
- Strong analytical, organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Established stakeholder management skills with the ability to build strong internal and external relationships.
- A proactive, flexible and solutions-focused approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong commercial awareness with an interest in business development, client growth and market trends.
- A willingness to develop within a professional services environment and support the continued success of the firm.
