Global Market Leader seek a High Calibre and Senior Business Development Exec to identify, shape and win significant opportunities across governments and their partners within the UK and Europe.
This is a huge opportunity with massive scope – reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer.
Head Office is based on the London / Hertfordshire border, but as this Role can be mainly remote (with some occasional trips to the Office) you can be based within the South East or Midlands.
The Role will need you to be flexible, as travel to Customer / Potential Customers will be required. Obviously a large proportion can be done on Video / Phone.
You will also need to be multi-lingual (at least 2 of the most common European languages)
THE ROLE
- Work with Governments / Agencies / Third Parties within the Criminal Justice / Law Enforcement arena - combining innovative technology with pace and ambition to remain as the number one choice – go to supplier.
- A hands-on commercial role for someone who understands how complex governments and agencies can be - who can build trusted relationships and ultimately win business.
Expected to be active in the market:
- Mapping - Meeting customers (UK and Europe) - In person or via video / calls.
- Building networks, developing opportunities - while maintaining strong discipline around your pipeline and commercial commitments.
- Identify, originate and develop new business opportunities across governments and agencies.
- Shape opportunities from early engagement through qualification, capture, bid, negotiation and contract award.
- Develop a deep understanding of customer priorities, programmes, budgets, timelines and the decision-making processes.
- Lead or support major proposals, bids and commercial negotiations.
- Develop trusted relationships with stakeholders across government and the wider law enforcement ecosystem.
- Build strong networks across operational, technology, commercial and procurement communities.
- Develop relevant industry and partner relationships
- Represent the Company at customer meetings, conferences, industry events.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the market - policies, spending, risks etc.
- Maintain an accurate, current and well-qualified pipeline of opportunities.
- Apply strong judgement to opportunity qualification and focus time and company resources where Buddi has a credible route to winning.
- Work closely with the Chief Commercial Officer
- Bring together colleagues across Product, Engineering, Delivery, and Operations to develop winning propositions.
- Translate customer requirements into clear opportunities and ensure the right teams are engaged at the right stage.
- Work with technical and product colleagues to articulate capability, credibly to both technical and non-technical customers.
- Ensure proposed solutions are commercially attractive, deliverable and aligned with strategic priorities.
- Feed customer, competitor and market intelligence back into product and company decision-making.

- A strong track record of winning complex, high-value business – ideally within government, technical or similar (although not essential – happy to consider people from outside these areas)
- A strong network and the credibility to build relationships with senior government and other stakeholders.
- Experience taking complex opportunities through the full sales lifecycle - from early market shaping through to contract award.
- Strong commercial instincts and the ability to distinguish a genuine opportunity from an interesting conversation. Be proactive not reactive
- Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills
- A proactive, entrepreneurial approach and comfort working at pace in a growing business.
- Willingness to travel regularly for customer and partner engagements.
- Be fluent in at least 2 of the common (most used) European languages.
