We're partnering with an established global software engineering and technology consultancy that's looking to hire a Senior Business Development Lead to drive the next phase of its growth across the UK Retail and Grocery market.

The business already has an impressive track record working with some of the UK's biggest retailers, delivering complex software engineering, digital transformation, ecommerce, cloud, data and AI programmes.

They're now looking for a genuine new-business hunter who can use that credibility to open the next wave of major enterprise retail accounts.

The Role

This is a hands-on individual contributor role with a strong focus on new logo acquisition.

You'll be responsible for identifying and opening major UK Retail and Grocery accounts, building relationships with CIOs, CTOs, CDOs and senior digital leaders and uncovering complex technology and transformation challenges.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You'll then work closely with technical, engineering and product teams to shape bespoke solutions, commercially lead opportunities and navigate complex procurement and RFP processes through to close.

This isn't about selling a predefined SaaS product. You'll be selling broad technology and engineering capability, with solutions shaped around each customer's challenges.

What They're Looking For

  • A proven new-business hunter with experience personally opening and closing enterprise accounts
  • Experience selling software engineering, digital transformation, product engineering, cloud, data/AI or wider technology consulting services
  • Strong exposure to UK Retail, Grocery or eCommerce
  • Evidence of carrying and delivering against £1.5m–£3m+ services targets
  • Experience selling complex, bespoke solutions rather than purely off-the-shelf products
  • Strong CIO, CTO, CDO and senior technology stakeholder relationships
  • Confidence navigating long, multi-stakeholder sales cycles, procurement and RFPs
  • Someone who is still genuinely hands-on and enjoys creating their own opportunities

Why Consider It?

You'll be joining a global technology business with established enterprise Retail credentials, strong client references and significant engineering capability behind you.

The opportunity is to take that platform and build something of your own, opening new strategic accounts and playing a key role in growing the UK Retail vertical.

The commission model is particularly attractive: 3% of all first-year revenue generated from Retail accounts you personally secure.

If you've built your career selling complex technology services into enterprise Retail and can point to major accounts you've personally opened, I'd love to hear from you.
