Shape the commercial growth of a global offshore wind consultancy
We are seeking a commercially driven Senior BD Manager to support and accelerate the growth of our offshore wind consultancy services. As part of our global consultancy, this role requires the ability to operate effectively with key stakeholders across the offshore wind sector, including developers, utilities, EPC contractors, and investors. This position is ideal for a professional who combines commercial strength, deep sector knowledge, and consulting experience, and who thrives in positioning a consultancy as a trusted partner in the offshore wind market.
Your Role & Impact
As Senior BD Manager, you will be responsible for driving new commercial opportunities and revenue growth, while building and strengthening long-term client relationships. You will:
- Develop and pursue new business opportunities across the offshore wind consultancy market
- Build and nurture strong relationships with new and existing clients
- Maintain a strong and qualified sales pipeline and support accurate forecasting
- Act as a commercial representative in client meetings, conferences, and industry forums
- Provide market and commercial intelligence to support strategic planning

Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Revenue Growth
- Identify, target, and develop new clients, projects, and market segments globally
- Expand existing client relationships and support repeat and cross-selling opportunities
- Support conversion of opportunities into profitable consultancy work
- Contribute to the execution of the company’s commercial growth strategy
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across:
- Developers
- Utilities
- EPC contractors
- Investors
- Strategic partners
- Understand client needs, procurement strategies, and investment plans
- Represent the company professionally at industry events and forums
Lead Qualification & Tender Handover
- Identify and qualify opportunities based on strategic and commercial fit
- Coordinate with internal BD, tendering, and technical teams
- Support pursuit strategies, client engagement plans, and handover into proposals
Market & Commercial Intelligence
- Lead the gathering of intelligence on:
- Competitor activity
- Client investment plans
- Market trends and upcoming projects
- Share insights to support internal prioritisation and positioning

Your Background
Essential Experience
- Extensive experience in business development, commercial management, or consulting within the offshore wind industry
- Proven track record in generating new business in a consultancy or advisory environment
- Experience working with senior stakeholders across the offshore wind value chain
- International experience and comfort working with global clients
Key Skills
- Strong industry network within offshore wind
- Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
- High commercial acumen and opportunity qualification capability
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Ability to operate credibly at senior commercial and technical levels
Desirable
- Background from engineering, advisory, or specialist consultancy
- Experience with tendering and proposal processes
- Experience working with utilisation targets and billable hours
- Preferably located in United Kingdom
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Renewable Energy, Commercial Management – or equivalent relevant experience.
