Senior Business Development Manager
Location: North London / Hertfordshire (Hybrid)
Salary: Circa £65,000 Basic (DOE) + Uncapped Commission (1.5% of All New Business Won) + Car Allowance + Excellent Benefits

Are you a high-performing Business Development Manager with a proven track record of winning major accounts within the foodservice, hospitality, education, healthcare, manufacturing or FMCG sectors?
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join one of the UK's leading foodservice businesses, responsible for identifying, securing and developing new business opportunities across the restaurant, casual dining, QSR, food-to-go, education, healthcare, manufacturing and wider B2B sectors.
This is a genuine hunter role, ideal for an ambitious sales professional who thrives on winning new business, opening strategic accounts and being rewarded exceptionally well for success.
With a competitive basic salary, uncapped commission paid at 1.5% of all new business won, plus a car allowance and excellent benefits, this role offers outstanding earning potential.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Commercial Leadership Team, you'll be responsible for generating new business opportunities, developing a strong sales pipeline and winning high-value regional and national customers across multiple sectors.
You'll build relationships with senior decision-makers, negotiate commercial agreements and work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure successful onboarding and long-term customer growth.

Key Responsibilities
- Identify, target and secure new business opportunities across restaurants, casual dining, QSR, food-to-go, education, healthcare, manufacturing, leisure and other commercial sectors.
- Develop and execute strategic business development plans to achieve ambitious sales targets.
- Generate leads through networking, referrals, market intelligence and proactive prospecting.
- Build relationships with Procurement Directors, Commercial Directors, Operations Directors, Buying Teams and senior decision-makers.
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through to negotiation, contract award and implementation.
- Produce compelling commercial proposals, presentations and tenders.
- Develop Joint Business Plans with newly acquired customers.
- Maximise opportunities to grow newly won accounts.
- Deliver accurate forecasting, CRM updates and pipeline reporting.
- Work closely with Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance and Marketing to ensure an outstanding customer experience.
- Monitor competitor activity and identify emerging market opportunities.
- Represent the business at customer meetings, networking events and industry exhibitions.
About You
You'll be a commercially driven sales professional with a genuine passion for winning new business and developing long-term customer relationships.
You'll likely have experience as a:
- Senior Business Development Manager
- Business Development Manager
- National Account Manager
- Key Account Manager
- Commercial Manager
- Strategic Account Manager
Experience within one or more of the following sectors would be highly advantageous:

You'll also have:
- A proven track record of winning new business within foodservice, food manufacturing, food distribution, wholesale or FMCG.
- Experience selling into multi-site restaurant groups, education providers, healthcare organisations, manufacturers, hospitality operators, contract caterers or food-to-go businesses.
- Strong commercial negotiation and consultative selling skills.
- Experience managing complex sales cycles and high-value opportunities.
- Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
- Excellent commercial awareness with strong forecasting and pipeline management capability.
- High levels of drive, resilience and self-motivation.
