Senior Business Development Manager – Specialist Logistics

Aldershot | Hybrid + UK Travel

£60,000–£70,000 Basic + significant bonus potential

Permanent | Full-time

Are you an experienced Business Development professional who thrives in a consultative, solutions-led sales environment?

This is an exciting opportunity to join a specialist logistics business at a key stage of growth, taking ownership of developing new business while also growing a portfolio of existing and lapsed accounts.

You'll have the autonomy to develop your market, build meaningful relationships and identify where there is a genuine commercial opportunity. Working directly with the Managing Director, you'll be trusted to manage opportunities from initial prospecting and discovery through to solution development, proposal, negotiation and successful handover.

The business provides specialist transport, handling, storage and installation solutions for high-value, fragile and business-critical technology, supporting customers across sectors including medical and scientific equipment, data centres, advanced manufacturing, defence, telecommunications and technology.

The role

You'll have a broad commercial remit, with approximately 50% focused on winning new business and 50% on developing existing and lapsed accounts.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience within specialist logistics, technical services, capital equipment, medical technology, engineering, manufacturing or another complex service-led environment would be particularly relevant, although the ability to understand a customer's requirements and sell a tailored solution is more important than coming from one specific sector.

Why join?

This is an opportunity to take on a highly autonomous senior sales role with significant growth potential.

You'll work closely with the Managing Director while having personal ownership of your pipeline, target accounts and commercial results. The business is entering its next stage of growth and investment, creating an opportunity for the successful person to make a genuine commercial impact.
