Role Description
The Senior Business Development Manager is full-time and home-based. This role is responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities right across Ireland and the UK, particularly within sectors requiring statutory engineering inspections and consultancy services. Day-to-day tasks include developing and executing growth strategies, building and maintaining relationships with key decision-makers, and managing the sales pipeline from prospecting through to contract negotiation and closure. The Senior Business Development Manager will collaborate with technical and operations teams to tailor service offerings to client needs, prepare proposals and bids, and represent Carn Engineering at meetings, industry events, and presentations. The role also involves monitoring market trends, reporting on performance metrics, and contributing to strategic planning to enhance Carn Engineering’s market presence and client satisfaction.

- Proven experience in business development, sales, and account management, ideally within engineering, industrial services, or health and safety compliance sectors.
- Strong skills in relationship building, stakeholder management, and client communication, with the ability to influence and negotiate at senior levels.
- Ability to develop and implement strategic sales plans, manage pipelines, and meet commercial targets while maintaining a client-focused approach.
- Experience in B2B service offerings; familiarity with statutory inspections, engineering consultancy, or regulatory compliance is highly beneficial however training will be provided.
- Excellent presentation, proposal writing, and report preparation skills, with attention to detail and clarity of communication.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities, including evaluating market data and identifying growth opportunities.
- Comfort visiting client locations throughout Ireland and the UK; valid driving license and willingness to travel as needed.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to safety, quality, and environmental responsibility.
