About Role & Company

A family-run, director-led workplace transformation business delivering workplace strategy, design, construction and project delivery for clients across the UK. The organisation helps businesses create workplaces that support their people, culture and commercial goals.

With a strong focus on collaboration, trust and long-term client relationships, the business has built a reputation for delivering high-quality workplace solutions and developing lasting partnerships.

As Senior Business Development Manager

You will take ownership of finding and qualifying the target leads that fuel the organisation’s growth, identifying organisations that align with its strategic ambitions and building the case for why they are worth pursuing.

Working independently within the Business Development team, you will lead first-conversation outreach across telephone, email, LinkedIn, networking and coordinated marketing activity, using your own judgement to prioritise the right organisations, qualify genuine interest and secure meaningful next steps. Rather than working through a shared list, you will take ownership of shaping which sectors and accounts deserve attention, and why.

Key Responsibilities

Target Lead Generation & Qualification

You will take ownership of identifying, prioritising and qualifying target leads across the organisation’s core sectors, using market research, sector insight and direct conversation to build a clear picture of each organisation before committing time to pursuit. Rather than working from a shared brief, you will independently refine the criteria used to judge prospect fit, ensuring only strategically aligned, commercially credible opportunities are progressed into the pipeline.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Independent Prospect Engagement

You will initiate and lead conversations with prospective clients across telephone, email, LinkedIn, events and other relevant channels, exercising your own judgement on tone, timing and approach rather than following a fixed script. Your objective is to create credible first conversations that stand on their own commercial merit, understand genuine need and secure next steps that are worth the wider team’s time.

Pipeline Ownership, Forecasting & CRM Discipline

You will own a personal pipeline of prospects and opportunities from first contact through to qualified handover, managing your own priorities, sequencing and follow-up without requiring day-to-day direction. You will maintain complete visibility of your pipeline within the CRM system, providing accurate forecasting and clear reporting so that the Director and wider team can rely on your data for planning and resourcing decisions.

Key Account & Strategic Partnership Development

Beyond new-name prospecting, you will identify and develop opportunities within existing relationships and named strategic accounts, working to convert early interest into long-term, repeat-engagement partnerships. You will represent the organisation professionally in every interaction, ensuring prospective and existing clients experience the same care, confidence and commercial credibility they would expect during a live project.

Collaboration with Marketing & Cross-Department Insight

You will shape, not simply support, joint activity with Marketing; bringing sector insight, campaign ideas and prospect feedback that sharpen targeting and messaging across the department. The role should strengthen the connection between marketing-generated interest and direct prospecting, with your independent judgement helping determine where each is best placed to create value.

Mentoring & Continuous Improvement

You will support Associates within the Business Development team, sharing effective prospecting techniques and reviewing approaches to help raise the overall standard of lead qualification across the department. You will also take the lead in testing new outreach methods and target segments, using data and feedback to refine the organisation’s approach to business development.
