Commercial Opportunities
- At least one opportunity progressing to a site visit, quotation, proposal, tender or onboarding discussion
- A clear and verifiable pipeline recorded in the company’s shared tracker
A major signed contract is not guaranteed within 30 days. However, general activity without credible opportunities will not be sufficient.
Probation and Reviews
The role has a three-month probationary period with formal reviews at approximately 30, 60 and 90 days. Continued employment will depend on satisfactory progress, professional conduct, credible pipeline development and performance against agreed KPIs.
Salary, Commission and Bonus
- £55,000 basic annual salary
- 1% commission on qualifying first-year revenue actually received by H&S FM Ltd
- Contract commission capped at £20,000 per year
- Annual company-performance bonus of up to £5,000
- Total annual earnings of up to £80,000
Commission applies only to eligible new contracts personally generated or materially won by the employee. Contracts must meet approved pricing and profit-margin requirements. Payments are subject to the written commission and bonus scheme, including client payment, contract performance and agreed individual and company targets.

Role Description
The Senior Business Development Manager is a full-time role based in Oldham with a hybrid working arrangement, combining on-site presence with some work-from-home flexibility. This role is responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities across security and facilities management services, building and maintaining relationships with key decision-makers, and developing strategic proposals tailored to client needs. Day-to-day activities include managing the sales pipeline, preparing and delivering pitches and presentations, negotiating contracts and commercial terms, and collaborating with operations teams to ensure service solutions are deliverable and aligned with company capabilities. The Senior Business Development Manager will monitor market trends, contribute to pricing and bid strategies, maintain accurate CRM records, and report on performance against revenue and growth targets. The role also involves representing H&S FM at industry events and meetings, promoting the brand and supporting long-term client retention and expansion.

Qualifications
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management, ideally within security, facilities management, or related services.
- Strong skills in relationship building, stakeholder management, and client negotiation, with the ability to influence decision-makers at various levels.
- Solid commercial acumen and understanding of pricing, contracts, and bid processes, including experience preparing proposals and tenders.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and report-writing skills, with the ability to explain service offerings and value propositions clearly.
- Competence in using CRM systems and standard office software to manage pipelines, track activity, and produce accurate forecasts.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple opportunities, and meet revenue and growth targets in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of UK security and facilities management markets and associated regulatory frameworks (e.g., SIA standards) is highly beneficial.
- Valid driving license and willingness to travel to client sites and events as required.
- Relevant education or professional qualifications in business, sales, or a related field are an advantage but not essential where experience is strong.
