Senior Business Development Manager – Facilities Management

London / Field-Based

Package: Up to 80k Basic (dependent on experience) + uncapped commission + Company Vehicle

This is not just another BDM role.

We’re partnering with a fast-growing workplace services business that sees Facilities Management as one of its biggest untapped growth opportunities — and they’re looking for someone to come in, take ownership of that market and build it.

The business already has relationships, supplier registrations, and existing activity within FM, but nobody currently owns the channel. The opportunity is there for the right person to come in, put their arms around it, and turn it into a significant revenue stream.

Why this opportunity is different:

  • You won’t be joining a huge corporate as salesperson number 47.
  • You’ll effectively become the FM specialist within the business, with the freedom to shape how the channel is developed, build relationships across the major FM providers, and create the strategy for long-term growth.
  • And when you make it work, the role grows with you.

The long-term plan is to build an entire FM function around this person — potentially including:

  • FM Business Development
  • FM Client Relations
  • FM Key Account Management
  • FM Sales Support

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The successful person could ultimately progress into leading that team / Head of FM-style responsibility as the channel develops.

What you’ll actually be doing:

This is a genuine hands-on business development role.

You’ll be expected to get out into the market, reconnect with existing contacts, build new relationships, and position the business with major Facilities Management organisations.

That means:

  • Opening doors within leading FM companies
  • Building relationships with Facilities Managers, Regional Managers, Account Managers, and commercial decision-makers
  • Getting onto supplier lists and frameworks
  • Networking, meeting clients, and getting out for coffees/site visits
  • Generating new opportunities from scratch
  • Owning opportunities through to close
  • Developing relationships across multiple sites and accounts
  • Building a genuine FM pipeline rather than simply servicing existing business

The client was very clear that this needs someone willing to put the graft in — meeting people, making calls, networking, and building relationships rather than sitting behind a desk waiting for leads.

Who we’re looking for:

You’ll ideally already be embedded within the Soft FM market.

That could mean you’re currently working for a major FM provider, or selling a service/product into FM businesses and already understand how the sector operates.

What matters is that you:

  • Understand the Soft FM market
  • Already have relationships or a strong network within the sector
  • Know how the major FM organisations operate
  • Are comfortable opening doors and developing relationships from scratch
  • Have the hunger to be hands-on and build something
  • Can operate independently and take real ownership of a market
  • Want more than simply being one salesperson within a large corporate structure

The client specifically wants someone who understands how this market works and can replicate what they’ve already done successfully elsewhere, rather than someone learning FM from day one.

The opportunity:

For someone currently sitting inside a FM business who wants more ownership, visibility, and influence, this could be a brilliant move.

You’re not inheriting somebody else’s finished desk.

You’re being given the opportunity to build the channel, grow the revenue, build the team, and potentially lead the FM function in the future.

If that sounds like the kind of challenge you’ve been waiting for, drop me a confidential message.
