About Nexgen Cloud

NexGen Cloud is the company behind Hyperstack, a full-stack AI cloud serving tens of thousands of customers from AI researchers to enterprises running the world's most compute-intensive workloads. We deliver on-demand and private GPU infrastructure to teams who treat performance as a requirement, not a feature.

We're a tight-knit, fast-moving team working at the cutting edge of AI cloud infrastructure. We practice what we preach, equipping our people with AI at every level so we can solve harder problems, ship faster, and keep raising the bar for what enterprise GPU infrastructure looks like.

THE ROLE: Senior Business Development Manager – Vertical Markets

Hyperstack already runs production GPU capacity at scale for AI start-ups, AI service providers and enterprise AI teams. This role exists to extend that position into compute-intensive, regulated and specialist industries — financial services, healthcare and life sciences, robotics and autonomous systems, computer vision and industrial AI — where compute budgets are already committed and infrastructure partners are being chosen now.

You'll own a named vertical end to end: the demand thesis, the target account map, the outbound motion, and every deal through to signature. This is a full-cycle role with real ownership, not a top-of-funnel handoff — you'll become the recognised commercial authority for your vertical inside NexGen, and a credible presence in that industry externally.

Role positioning: this is a role for a senior seller who already holds trust in a compute-intensive industry and wants full ownership of turning that trust into a book of business — the strategy, the pipeline and the close.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What You'll Be Doing

Rather than a long checklist, here's what success in this role looks like:

  • Own a named vertical end to end — build the demand thesis, size the addressable market, and turn it into a prioritised target account map
  • Self-source the majority of your own pipeline and reach the people who decide compute budget: CIO, CTO, Chief Data or AI Officer, and the procurement and risk functions that gate them
  • Lead technical discovery to a real specification, then own the full cycle to signature — commercial proposal, security review, procurement, legal and MSA negotiation
  • Structure multi-year committed reservations and on-demand entry points, and keep a forecast the business can plan capacity against
  • Build Hyperstack's presence in your vertical — industry events, analyst and partner relationships, reference customers and case studies
  • Feed vertical requirements into Product, Capacity and Marketing with enough specificity to change decisions, then follow through until they land
  • Act as the internal reference point for your vertical — brief the wider Sales team and raise the technical floor around you

About You

We're more interested in how you think and work than in a perfect CV. You'll likely bring a combination of the following:

Essential

  • 8+ years in business development, enterprise sales or solution sales, including at least 3 years carrying a new business number in complex enterprise environments
  • A demonstrable record of opening net-new enterprise logos from a standing start — self-sourced, not inherited and not renewal-led
  • Deep credibility in at least one compute-intensive vertical — financial services, healthcare and life sciences, robotics and autonomous systems, computer vision and industrial AI, media and entertainment, or engineering and simulation — including an active network at buying level
  • Substantive infrastructure fluency (cloud, IaaS, HPC, data centre, GPU or AI compute), or a proven history of learning a technical domain to the point of holding your own with engineers
  • Evidence of closing complex deals through procurement, security review and legal, with contract values and cycle lengths you can talk to in detail

Nice to Have

  • Experience at a neo-cloud, GPU-as-a-Service platform, hyperscaler or HPC infrastructure vendor
  • Prior ownership of a vertical or industry go-to-market as a named remit
  • Familiarity with regulated buying environments — data residency and sovereignty, isolation requirements, and the security and compliance reviews that come with them
  • Experience selling committed capacity or reservation-style contracts rather than pure consumption
  • Formal sales methodology — MEDDPICC, Command of the Message or equivalent

What We Offer

  • Competitive base salary with uncapped commission and accelerators above target, plus equity participation
  • Employee wellbeing benefits
  • 25 days of holiday, plus public holidays
  • Hybrid working, with Tuesday to Thursday in the London office
  • Real ownership of a named vertical, with the trust to build and run it as your own
  • A clear route to principal-level individual contribution or vertical leadership as your vertical scales
  • A collaborative, international culture built on trust, transparency, and ownership
  • The chance to help shape NexGen Cloud's team, culture, and future alongside ambitious, mission-driven colleagues
