About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and well-connected Sales/BD professional to lead our market development efforts in Germany. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving revenue growth in the German power equipment sector, with a focus on distribution transformers and related medium-voltage products.
Key Responsibilities
Market Development
- Conduct structured research into German market entry requirements, regulatory frameworks, and technical standards applicable to power equipment (including distribution transformers and MV systems), with awareness of VDE, DIN, and BDEW requirements
- Monitor and report on market trends, policy changes, Energiewende-driven grid investment cycles, and competitor activity
Sales & Business Development
- Identify, approach, and develop relationships with target customers including regional grid operators (VNBs/ÜNBs), municipal utilities (Stadtwerke), EPCs, industrial end-users, and channel partners
- Lead commercial negotiations and support the full sales cycle from prospecting through to contract signature
- Build and manage a network of distributors, agents, and strategic partners to extend market reach across Germany's fragmented DSO landscape

Internal Coordination & Reporting
- Provide timely and structured feedback to HQ on market dynamics, customer requirements, and competitive landscape to support product and strategy decisions
- Collaborate with technical, logistics, and legal teams to ensure smooth project execution and customer satisfaction
Requirements
Must-Have
- Minimum 3 years of sales or BD experience in the German power equipment market
- Established relationships with German DSOs (VNBs), Stadtwerke, or industrial power buyers
- Solid understanding of German grid infrastructure, procurement processes, and relevant technical and regulatory standards (VDE, BDEW technical connection rules)

Preferred
- Experience with distribution transformers, RMUs, or compact substations
- Familiarity with German utility tender and framework agreement processes
- Experience navigating Germany's highly decentralized utility structure (~800+ DSOs and Stadtwerke)
- Ability to work independently in a remote/field-based setup while coordinating with an international team
Language & Location
- Native or fluent German; working proficiency in English required
- Based in Germany; regular travel expected
