Your role at a glance
The Senior Business Operations Analyst - Data Office (m/f/d), is accountable for working with business stakeholders, IT, and delivery partners to define, analyse, and translate complex business data and reporting requirements into actionable solutions for our global, cross-functional data repository and reporting platform. This role ensures that data, reporting, ETL, data warehousing, semantic models, analytics, and AI-enabled insights are aligned to business objectives and deliver measurable value.
The role acts as a bridge between business problems and technology solutions, supporting the full lifecycle from business need, requirements definition, process mapping, use case design, functional specification, testing, deployment, and adoption. The role partners closely with technical teams to ensure that implemented data products, integrations, reports, dashboards, and analytical outputs are fit for purpose, governed, scalable, and usable by the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the business analysis lead for data, reporting, analytics, and platform use cases, ensuring business problems are clearly understood and translated into actionable delivery outcomes.
- Work with internal stakeholders to determine, document, and validate business, functional, process, information, and system requirements for the global data repository and reporting platform.
- Translate business requirements into clear functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, reporting specifications, data requirements, and operational deliverables.
- Analyse current-state processes, data flows, reporting pain points, and operational gaps; define target-state improvements enabled by data, ETL, data warehousing, semantic models, dashboards, and analytics solutions.
- Act as a liaison between business stakeholders, Data Office, IT Data Foundation, and delivery teams to ensure requirements are feasible, prioritised, understood, and delivered in line with business value.
- Support solution definition for new data products, reports, dashboards, integrations, and analytical capabilities, including trade-off analysis across scope, complexity, usability, data availability, and business impact.
- Define and maintain business analysis documentation, including requirements documents, process maps, data definitions, reporting logic, user guides, test cases, training materials, and decision logs.
- Coordinate validation, user acceptance testing, and business readiness activities to ensure solutions meet agreed requirements and are adopted effectively by end users.
- Identify opportunities to improve data quality, reporting efficiency, automation, user experience, and operational transparency through better processes, standards, and platform capabilities.
- Ensure data governance, security, access control, and enterprise architecture considerations are reflected in business requirements and delivery decisions.
- Provide ongoing support for enhancements, incidents, and change requests by clarifying requirements, assessing root causes, aligning stakeholders, and ensuring sustainable resolution.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
