At M&G, our purpose is to give everyone real confidence to put their money to work. With a heritage dating back more than 175 years, we have a long history of innovation in savings and investments, combining asset management and insurance expertise to offer a wide range of solutions.

Our two distinct operating segments, Asset Management and Life, work together to provide access to balanced, long-term investment and savings solutions.

Through telling it like it is, owning it now and moving it forward together with care and integrity; we are creating an exceptional place to work for exceptional talent.

We will consider flexible working arrangements for any of our roles and offer workplace adjustments to ensure you have the support you need to succeed in your role.

The Role

In this role, you will support the ongoing work to roll-out PruFund to 3rd Party Platforms, specifically working with and testing in pControl, the application that is being used to provide the unit register for all platforms investing in PruFund, internal and external. The first external investment platform has just gone live, and so we’re at the start of an exciting period of rolling out to a number of other external platforms that are in the pipeline.

You would be testing that the functionality in pControl behaves as intended for each new platform, and that files received from and sent to the various platforms re processed as expected. You would also be dealing with defects and change requests that are identified as part of this testing.

You would be working alongside the Investment Funds Oversight (IFO) team that operate the unit register, and that use pControl for a number of other functions on a daily basis, so will be trained by them and able to draw on their expertise during your testing and analysis work.

Key Responsibilities

This role involves applying strong numerical and analytical skills, and previous practical experience in the UK financial services industry is essential, particularly with the use and testing of finance and/or investment systems. Responsibilities include:

  • Working with the project team on day-to-day testing, including SIT, UAT, end-to-end, negative & positive, and regression testing.
  • Producing & testing of a suite of outputs produced by pControl for PruFund on Platform.
  • Supporting the operation & maintenance of different test environments at different stages of testing.
  • Maintaining JIRA test records with all testing completed.
  • Identifying defects, reporting these through the relevant mechanisms, depending upon whether the defect is in pControl, the relevant platform being tested at the time, or some other application or tool used in the end-to-end process.
  • Identifying where a change request is required, working with the pControl supplier to understand potential solutions, and raising through the project to secure approval & funding for the change.
  • Working with the IFO team to identify any changes to their daily processes as a result of the new platforms, including any changes made in pControl to facilitate those new platforms.
  • Documenting any changes to business procedure documentation, and rolling out those changes to business users.
  • Support the project team in planning (& re-planning) delivery timescales.
  • Support the IFO team in achieving readiness ahead of go-live for each new platform.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
