Senior Buyer
Manufacturing & Distribution | M&E Building Products | Ambitious Growth Plans
Leeds
up to £50,000
Are you an experienced Buyer with a strong background in manufacturing or distribution? Do you enjoy negotiating with suppliers, improving procurement performance, and ensuring the right materials are available at the right time and cost?
This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful and growing business as Senior Buyer, taking responsibility for key supplier relationships, purchasing activity, and procurement improvements across the organisation.
This is far more than a transactional buying role. It's an opportunity to influence purchasing performance, develop supplier partnerships, and identify opportunities to improve cost, quality, availability, and service.
The Opportunity:
- Working closely with the senior leadership team and wider operations function, you'll take ownership of day-to-day and strategic purchasing activities across a range of materials, products, and services.
- You'll be responsible for managing supplier relationships, negotiating pricing and terms, monitoring supplier performance, and ensuring continuity of supply.
- You'll also have the opportunity to identify and implement improvements across purchasing processes, systems, and stock management.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
