About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-paced, high-performing Purchasing team in a role with real visibility, influence, and international exposure. As Senior Buyer for Professional Services & Marketing, you'll manage a varied and exciting supplier portfolio spanning events & exhibitions, consultancy, legal, HR, training, and more.

This is far more than a traditional procurement role. You'll play a key part in supporting some of the most exciting and innovative projects within global engineering, working alongside senior stakeholders across the business and contributing to initiatives that have real international impact.

This is a strategic position where you'll lead sourcing activity, shape category strategies, and build strong commercial partnerships that support both UK and global operations. You'll be trusted to make decisions that matter, drive value, and influence business direction at a global level.

What you'll be doing day to day

  • Own and lead procurement activity across Professional Services and Marketing, from strategy through to delivery.
  • Support major global engineering and business projects through effective supplier and commercial management.
  • Drive supplier performance by challenging on cost, service, lead times, and innovation, while ensuring quality and reliability.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts, securing strong commercial outcomes and managing renewals to maximise long-term value.
  • Deliver strategic projects, supporting leadership on cost reduction, process improvement, and longer-term planning.
  • Manage the supply base, maintaining strong market intelligence and acting as Lead Buyer for your categories.
  • Collaborate across the business, working closely with IT, Finance, HR, Engineering, Events, and Marketing teams to deliver successful outcomes.

This role would suit you if

  • You have proven procurement experience, ideally within Professional Services and/or Marketing categories.
  • You possess strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • You are analytical, commercially aware, and confident working with data.
  • You thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and enjoy working on high-profile projects.
  • A CIPS qualification (or working towards one) would be advantageous, but is not essential.
