Senior Buyer – Kitchen Manufacturing

The Opportunity

We are partnering with an established and growing kitchen manufacturer to appoint an experienced Senior Buyer into its procurement team in Oxfordshire.

This is a commercially focused role responsible for managing strategic supplier relationships, sourcing key components and materials, negotiating commercial agreements, and ensuring the business maintains the right balance of cost, quality, availability, and supplier performance.

The successful candidate will work closely with Procurement, Manufacturing, Operations, Product Development, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams and will play an important role in supporting both existing product ranges and new product introductions.

This position would suit an experienced Buyer or Senior Buyer from a manufacturing, kitchens, furniture, home improvement, appliances, interiors, or engineered products environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the sourcing and procurement of materials, components, and finished products across assigned categories.
• Develop and execute category and supplier strategies aligned with wider business objectives.
• Lead supplier negotiations covering pricing, payment terms, service levels, lead times, and contractual agreements.
• Identify opportunities to reduce cost while protecting product quality and supply continuity.
• Develop strong relationships with strategic UK and international suppliers.
• Monitor supplier performance across quality, delivery, cost, and service.
• Conduct regular supplier reviews and support supplier development initiatives.
• Work closely with manufacturing and planning teams to ensure continuity of supply.
• Support new product development and new product introduction projects from a procurement perspective.
• Source and qualify new suppliers where required.
• Manage RFQ and tender processes.
• Analyse commodity pricing, supplier costs, and market trends.
• Identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Support inventory reduction and working-capital initiatives.
• Ensure supplier contracts and purchasing agreements are commercially robust.
• Collaborate with Quality and Engineering teams to resolve supplier or product issues.
• Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier information within relevant ERP systems.
• Support continuous improvement across procurement processes.
