JHM Butt & Co Ltd is a well-established family-owned business supplying garage equipment, workshop tools and automotive workshop solutions throughout the UK. Since 1971, we've built a reputation for providing quality products, expert advice and outstanding customer service to customers ranging from independent garages to national automotive groups.
We're looking for a Senior Buyer to join our team and take ownership of key supplier relationships, procurement strategy and product sourcing. You'll play an important role in ensuring we continue to source the right products at the right value while supporting the company's ongoing growth.

Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Negotiate pricing, commercial terms and supply agreements.
- Source new products and identify market opportunities.
- Monitor supplier performance, quality and lead times.
- Manage purchasing activity to maintain stock availability.
- Work closely with sales, operations and finance to support business objectives.
- Analyse purchasing data and market trends to improve commercial performance.
About You
You'll be a commercially minded buyer who enjoys building relationships and negotiating successful outcomes.
You'll ideally have:

- Previous buying or procurement experience.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent organisational and analytical abilities.
- Confidence working with suppliers and managing multiple priorities.
- A proactive approach with a focus on continuous improvement.
Experience within the automotive, engineering or industrial sectors would be advantageous but is not essential.
