Senior Buyer – Manufacturing Procurement

Hemel Hempstead | £50,000 – £60,000 + Benefits

Are you an ambitious Senior Buyer looking for the opportunity to take on greater responsibility and make the step towards Procurement Manager?

A growing, high-tech manufacturing organisation is looking for a Senior Buyer to join its procurement team, taking ownership of a broad range of direct materials, components and manufacturing-related spend.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone currently working within automotive, aerospace, electronics, FMCG, food manufacturing, medical devices, pharmaceutical, chemical or wider engineering/manufacturing environments who wants more autonomy, visibility and progression.

The opportunity:

  • Take ownership of strategic sourcing and supplier management across a broad portfolio of direct procurement spend
  • Manage and develop relationships with UK and international manufacturing suppliers
  • Lead negotiations around cost, quality, lead times, capacity and commercial terms
  • Work closely with Engineering, Operations, Production and other technical stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, value engineering and supply-chain improvement
  • Play an important role in developing procurement processes and supplier performance
  • Gain the exposure and responsibility to progress towards Procurement Manager-level positions

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
