At Pets at Home, we’re here to make life better for pets and the people who love them. And that starts with creating and delivering brilliant products our customers can trust. Products that nourish, delight and truly support pet wellbeing.

Our Food and Health categories are some of the fastest-growing areas of our business, and we’re looking for a Senior Buyer who’s ready to take their category to the next level. If you’re commercially sharp, passionate about product and excited by shaping something big, this could be your next opportunity.

A Role with Real Impact

This isn’t buying as usual. You’ll be shaping categories that are changing how people feed and look after their pets, a space full of innovation, customer passion and long-term potential.

You’ll lead the commercial strategy, unlock new opportunities and create a range that genuinely sets us apart. All while supporting our purpose: to make the world a better place for pets.

The role offers hybrid working from our Support Office in Handforth, Cheshire.

What you’ll be doing

  • Taking full accountability for your category’s sales, margin and market share
  • Turning customer insights and market trends into a winning proposition
  • Leading strategic supplier relationships; negotiating, building partnerships and driving innovation
  • Working with our Own Brand team to bring exciting new fresh and raw ranges to customers
  • Partnering with teams across Supply Chain, Marketing, Retail and more to land your category brilliantly across every channel
  • Acting as Transformation Lead to drive change across sourcing, distribution and the customer experience
  • Creating simple, inspiring plans that help our colleagues understand (and get excited about!) where the category is headed

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
