Role Overview
Vickerstock are working in partnership with a business in the construction sector to recruit a procurement professional to manage purchasing activities from sourcing and supplier selection through to order placement and delivery.
You will negotiate pricing and commercial terms, manage supplier relationships and ensure materials are available to meet project requirements. The role also involves supporting tenders, monitoring expenditure and resolving purchasing issues to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the procurement process from sourcing suppliers and obtaining quotations through to placing orders and coordinating delivery, preparing procurement reports for individual projects.
- Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, availability, and commercial terms, negotiating pricing and terms to secure value for money.
- Build and maintain supplier relationships to support reliable service and supply.
- Raise and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and monitoring delivery progress.
- Maintain up-to-date procurement records, including supplier details and pricing, and monitor purchasing expenditure and identify opportunities to reduce costs.
- Support tendering activities by obtaining and reviewing supplier quotations.
- Manage the procurement process from sourcing suppliers and obtaining quotations through to placing orders and coordinating delivery.
- Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, availability, and commercial terms.

What you will need to succeed

- Previous procurement experience covering sourcing, quotations, purchase orders, and tender support.
- Experience evaluating suppliers and negotiating pricing and commercial terms.
- Experience managing supplier relationships and resolving delivery issues, invoice discrepancies, and purchasing queries.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with the ability to analyse pricing, expenditure, and procurement data.
- Working knowledge of construction and purchasing principles.
- A full, clean driving licence.
