About Us
JHM Butt and Co Ltd is a garage and workshop equipment supplier based in Harworth, Doncaster, supplying tools, lifts, MOT bay equipment and workshop equipment to customers including Halfords Autocentres, Kwik Fit, Royal Mail and NHS ambulance trusts. We are a well-established, successful family-owned business trading since 1971. We source products from UK, Europe and Far East purchasing industry leading brands whilst developing our own brand proposition.
The Role
As Senior Buyer, you will take ownership of key supplier relationships, lead negotiations, and manage procurement across our product range. You will report directly to a Company Director working closely with operations, finance and sales to make sure we source the right products at the right value, and to keep supply reliable as the business grows.

Key Responsibilities
- Build relationships with key suppliers
- Develop and execute range strategy aligned with business goals
- Lead supplier selection, contract negotiation and performance management
- Identify range expansion opportunities
- Monitor market trends and identify cost saving opportunities
- Work with internal teams to forecast demand and manage stock levels
- Line management responsibility of x1 purchaser
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and ethical sourcing standards
- Continuously improve procurement processes and systems
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in a senior procurement or buying role, 5 or more years
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills
- Good analytical and commercial acumen
- Experience with ERP systems and procurement tools
- A proactive, collaborative and results driven approach
- CIPS qualification or working towards it (preferred)

Location & Working Pattern
This is an office-based role in Harworth, North Nottinghamshire. Due to the hands-on and collaborative nature of the position, candidates should be within a reasonable commuting distance and able to work on-site full-time.
