Senior Buyer – Sub Contractors
Working on some of the largest Energy and Power projects in Scotland for the next 10 years. The perfect chance to transfer from another Tier 1 Contractor into the Energy sector.
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 basic + Car + Bonus
Location: Glasgow
Working on a hybrid basis, 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.
Role Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Buyer to manage the end-to-end Subcontract Procurement process. Taking the initial stakeholders, both existing and new stakeholders looking to work on the Energy Frameworks, through to contract award.
Sitting within the largest frameworks in Scotland, delivering £3 billion of projects in the next 5 years. Part of the procurement team, you will drive strategic supply chain initiatives, working closely with project teams to develop procurement strategies that will deliver a strong Sub Contractors supply chain.

Key duties include:
- Managing procurement activities, including EOI, PQQ, ITT, contractor scoring, and contract awards.
- Owning the sub-contractor supply chain segmentation, and managing the database to build a robust subcontract packages.
- Regularly reviewing and refreshing the subcontractor supply chain to ensure aligned performance.
- Leading supply chain bid inputs, tender lists, and post-award subcontractor assessments.
- Identifying supply chain innovations to differentiate and continuously improve the project delivery.
This role is perfect for someone in the Civil Engineering sector, maybe working for a Tier 1 contractor in a sector that hasn’t got the spending power of the Energy sector. Sector experience such as:

Experience / Qualifications:
- Commitment to, or actively studying toward CIPS (or an equivalent professional qualification).
- Proven Senior Buyer within the infrastructure sector.
- Solid understanding of sub-contract terms, bid management, and contract negotiation.
You must be eligible to work in the UK and living in the local area to be considered for this position.
